The National Association of Psychiatric Intensive Care Units is a truly multi disciplinary clinician lead NHS organisation committed to the development of psychiatric intensive care and low secure services in the UK. We are proud to announce that we are now in our 11th year with an ever increasing membership of 187 NHS Trusts and private health care facilities from across the UK and countries around the world.

Members of NAPICU have played a leading and comprehensive role in the development of the UK Department of Health National Minimum Standards for Adult Services in Psychiatric Intensive Care Units and Low Secure Services. Developing practice to meet these standard in Units is being supported by the National PICU Governance Network co facilitated by NAPICU, NIMHE and NELMHT
