Development on the accreditation standards has been made an we are now in a position with our partners at the CCQI to launch the standards for PICU. Development of the LSU standards is delayed due to national developments around commissioning of these services.

Background

NAPICU and the Royal College of Psychiatrists have teamed up to develop Accreditation for Acute  Inpatient Mental Health Services for PICU ( AIMS - PICU).

Units will join a facilitated Network which will run on a four year cycle, The standards will be based on a review of the existing national Minimum Standards and recently published evidence. Members will then undertake a period of self assessment and review, followed by peer review before the results are verified. Once verified Units will be award a certificate of accreditation.
